She was such a brave little girl. She sat there calmly without flinching nor crying. We also took Lauren to get her first haircut ever. My hairdresser cut 6 inches off!! But she looks very cute. We've been having problems with the camera lately....I'll attempt to upload asap.

Matthew just celebrated his 7th birthday on February 28th. WOW! where has the time gone? He failed his eye exam at school so T took him to get his vision checked out at the local opt. He'll be needing glasses! YIKES!

Last weekend was Matthew's school fundraiser at the Orinda Country Club. We got dressed up and attended the event. There was a silent and live auction. We sat at a table with good friends. There was a bidding war against us and another table for an overnight stay at Safari West. Unfortunately, after a certain amount we had to call it quits. I believe the trip went for $1400!! There was also a bidding war between one of Matthew's classmates mom and myself on the class project which was a quilt with 16 fishes (made by 16 kids) in the class. Matthew asked me to bid on that. We paid $175!!!! Needless to say, by the end of the night, we spent more than we wanted to but the good thing is that all the money raised that night went to Matthew's school. We didn't attend last year but I'm certainly glad we did this year! We're all about education!

Today, I took Lauren on BART to the Oracle Arena in Oakland to meet up with Sandra and Julia for the Disney Princess on ice. It was a great show. It was good to catch up with Sandra for a bit.

Busy at work, had 2 Patient Level Recalls Friday and I had to draft up a memo. Plus, one of my vendors came to get data. Therefore, I did OT!! Talk about major stress!!!!! My "Boss" who use to be the Sr. VP, CMO just got promoted and now our pod will be reporting directly to the Executive VP, COO!!! He came in our pod to tell us the news directly.

Planning the COF Easter luncheon has been keeping me busy!! I'll have to stuff the eggs soon!!!! Looking forward to the event and praying for good weather for the egg hunt!
UPDATES

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Wishing everyone happiness, good health and prosperity for the year of the rat! Our department CNY potluck was a huge success and everyone ate to their heart's content. We had Chinese New Year Eve dinner with my parents. My mom "goes out" every year and cooks a ton of dishes. My contribution this year was making the curry chicken. T went to his parents' house and spent the actual CNY there while the kids and I stayed in the East Bay.

Last weekend was our COF CNY/Valentine's get together. We all met at Serramonte prior to lunch to take a photo of the kids dressed in their Chinese outfits. (Etoiledelune posted a group photo) Afterwards, we went to Moonstar in Daly City for lunch. It was great to catch up with everyone!

Valentine's Day, T got me a card and lavender roses. We went to Il Fornacio for lunch in downtown Walnut Creek. Night time, my dad, the kiddies, me and T went to Fuddruckers. I finally had everything set for the training program which occurred on Friday. I was busy printing off all the materials and assembling all the binders! On Friday morning, I dropped Lauren off earlier at school and then went to work to load up the boxes of binders and supplies and proceeded to go to the Marriott Hotel. There was some minor things that were not taken care of but luckily I was able to straighten it out. When the class started, I went back to the G.O. I heard from our manager of professional services that everything went well. I hope Saturday's training went off without a hitch! I guess I'll find out sometime this week. Next task is to set up a conference call for the pharmacists that need only the OSHA training.

Matthew's enjoying 1st grade so far. We had a back to school night on Tuesday, September 4th. We met his teacher and other parents and signed up to bring things in for his class. He's got homework already!

UPDATES

This past weekend, we didn't get to go to Discovery Kingdom after all! My co-worker didn't have his daughter that weekend. Instead, we took the kids to the library to return books and check out new materials. When we got there, we made it just in time for storytime. Both Matthew and Lauren had a great time. Afterwards, we loaded up on DVDs and books, for the kids of course. Tony and I had the chance to catch up on some movies. We saw Pirates 2: Dead Man's Chest on DVD and Pirates 3.

Today, we took Matthew to school to turn in some paperwork and attend the ice cream social. He starts 1st grade tomorrow!! YIKES!!! T will be dropping him off at school tomorrow morning around 8:00 a.m. Once again, he'll be an "early" bird for two weeks and then we find out if he'll remain an early bird or start later as a "late" bird.

Busy as usual at work, had some drama last week and today as well. What a way to start off the week. I hope it's not a sign of what kind of work week I'll be having! I finally wrapped up one project until the next quarter. My own project is going live next Friday so I'll be extremely happy when that's over.......

This weekend will be labor day and it sucks because the Bay Bridge will be closed Friday evening to early Tuesday morning. We originally planned to attend C and C's party in Roseville but because of the Bridge closure, we had to decline! CRAP.......We have plans to go "Back to school" shopping in Gilroy so I'm looking forward to it! So, I've been working hard, running in and out of meetings and scheduling meetings with the executives of our company! In fact, I now report to the Sr. VP/CMO of the company!! until a replacement has been found. One good thing is that I just got a wireless headset last week and that has helped me tremendously! I can answer the phone while working on other things. Another project that I'm working on is a quarterly project....however my phone and fax are ringing off the hook for the past few days!! ARGHHH!!! My part should be done by Monday next week. PHEW!!!! Other than work, work, and more work... that's about it and by the time we get home, I'm drainined...emotionally. I still nod off around 10ish. On the weekends, it has just been "mother in law" sitting on our end.

T and I just celebrated our 11 year anniversary on August 3rd. We went to Michelle's Auntie's place Tofu Village for our celebration. It was excellent as usual! 2 weeks ago, I stumbled onto an Ann Taylor sample sale and managed to pick up a few additions for my wardrobe. (it was so cheap that I'm embarrassed to mention how much I paid for each of the pieces! )

I miss our COF friends, you guys know who you all are!! We have a busy weekend coming up, a 1st birthday party and a baby shower on Sunday. We just finished the shopping today! Usually I'm on top of things like that but with the way work is now, I have no time. In fact, we're suppose to go to the Discovery Kingdom (formerly Marine World) with my co-worker bud and his daughter but we can never get our schedules in sync. I think we are scheduled to go next weekend.....Lauren,Matthew and Ava are all looking forward to it as I am. I'm itching for a break..........to clear my head. It'll be nice to get away, even though it's just for a day!

Updates

We took the kids to the "happiest place on earth" July 2nd returning July 5th. We drove down on Monday morning around 6 a.m. stopped off at Citadel outlet mall for about an hour and proceeded to drive down to Hyatt located in Orange County. This time around T booked a kids suite so that MJ and Lauren had their own bunkbed and t.v. We checked in around 4 p.m. unpacked and grabbed a early dinner. We went to one of our favorite places in Garden Grove called Pho Bolsa. They jacked up the price and the food was so so. Afterwards, we went to grab some boba drinks and picked up some cheap and delicious vietnemese sandwiches 3 for $ 2 bucks. We went back to the hotel cleaned up and the kids nodded off quickly.

TUESDAY, JULY 3RD: We woke up at 6:30 a.m. got ready and boarded the bus to Disneyland at 7:30 am got to Disneyland around 7:45 a.m. and waited in a LONG line in the heat. Tony's plan was to hit the Finding Nemo submarine ride. However, by the time we got there the line was already over 2 1/2 hours!!! Needless to say, we skipped it andI took Lauren on the Matterhorn ride since there was no line. Matthew chickened out!

...to be continued.....time for Family night before tucking the kids into bed.......

We rode a few more rides then headed over to the Paradise Pier Hotel for a character breakfast at Lilo and Stitch's Aloha Breakfast. The food was pretty good and the characters were very interactive. (We went to Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel last year). Both Matthew and Lauren had fun doing the hula and eating the food. Afterwards, we took the kids over to California side and hit all the rides in the It's a Bugs life section of the theme park, saw Playhouse Disney, rode on Soarin' with Matthew, checked out the High School Musical Pep Rally and then had ice cream waffle cone while watched the Block Party and then T took Matthew on the Tower of Terror. After, we went back to Disneyland and rode on Haunted Mansion and Pirates with Lauren. Matthew once again refused to go on any of the rides so T missed out on those rides! (He was not a happy camper) The Finding Nemo ride wait was over 3 hours!! YIKES!!! So, we rode on a few more rides, picked up a big limited edition Minnie for Lauren for being such a good girl and went back to the hotel.

TUESDAY, JULY 4th:
We hit Toon Town for the early morning madness and rode all the rides and checked out Mickey and Minnie's houses and received a honorary citizen button. I spotted the Princess Faire theatre next to Toon Town and I took Lauren there for some princess fun while Tony took Matthew on some other rides. There was arts and crafts, storytelling and a little salon and gift shop. I went and had Lauren's hair done like a princess and had her face painted. She looked so adorable. ( I have to upload photos later) We then went to some rides in Fantasyland before grabbing lunch at Carnation Cafe, T's favorite place to eat. After lunch, we hit the gift shop and then went back to the hotel so the kids could nap. Lauren napped while Matthew DIDN'T!! Arghhh We had Pizza Hut for dinner and then went back to Disneyland. T saw that the line for Nemo was shorter than he had seen (still an hour and a half wait!) so I took the kids and waited in line while he rode the Matterhorn. Our line was moving pretty fast and the kids were patiently waiting without a fuss. Finally, by 8 p.m. it was our turn and I must say, it was a good ride enjoyed by all. We watched an AMAZING display of fireworks especially designed for the 4th of July. We wrapped up the evening by riding on Autopia, Buzz Lightyear and the rocketship ride in Tomorrowland.
It was a fun but exhausting trip. We headed home on Thursday and got back around 9 p.m. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to take the MUNI and BART into Walnut Creek for work. Needless to say, I was hating life....but I'm glad I went in to play catch up. Luckily we had a quiet weekend just kicking back and catching up on some ZZZZs.

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July!!

Updates

Last weekend we attended Derrick and Cindy's wedding while my brother and Rob babysat the kids for us. Thanks Dee and Rob! The kids were excited and happy to spend some QT with their uncles!! The wedding was beautiful. There was some time in between the wedding and the reception so T, me, Spence, Michelle ( they picked us up, thanks guys), Darcey and Wilson went to Japantown for a drink and crepes and shared our kiddie stories. Afterwards, we all went to the Mark Hopkins hotel for the reception. The food, ambiance, service was excellent. We saw quite a bit of people we hadn't seen in a very long time and it was great to hang out with Spence and Michelle. We headed out early that day and by the time we got back, Lauren was already zonked out and Matthew was nodding off.

SUNDAY: Happy Belated Father's Day to Darrell (Lauren's godfather) and all the Dads we know and love.

Brother in law #1 and family drove up from Los Angles to spend the weekend with my in-laws. We had a nice lunch with them before they headed home. In the afternoon, we had to "mom sit" to give the caregivers a break. (They had a rough night. My mother in law barely slept a wink-too much excitement!! )

Monday, it was hectic at work!! Lots of stuff to do but I made it through the day, YEAH! At night, we continued with our "Family Night." This is a tradition that Tony started so we can spend some time with the kiddies before bedtime. Matthew chose memory and we played 2 games. After a hard day of work, my brain..or rather my memory was fried. I came in last!! How embarrassing!! We'll be playing old maid tonight or Dora bingo. Hope I don't get my butt whipped by a 3 and 6 year old. LOL

(I'll have to figure out how to load photos from the new camera.....hopefully, this weekend!)

On a separate note, Lauren has completed her potty training....YEAH!! Her teacher told us she's ready for underwear so she's been wearing underwear since last Monday. She's had a few accidents but for the most part, she's been doing very well. We still put her in diapers at night and she's been dry!! GO Lauren... she's very excited to wearing her princess undies!

Updates!

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: Lauren's friend Ava from school came over and they had a playdate. We had lunch at one of our usual places Yummy Yummy and the kids had fun playing. At night, we put on Shrek 2 for the kids to watch. It was a test to see if Lauren would actually sit through a whole movie. (As you all guessed, we are planning to take the kids to see "Shrek 3" and it's one of the movies I would like to watch and not have to skip out on the second half if Lauren started crying....) Luckily, Lauren sat through the whole movie on my lap. So, I guess it's a go.

Sunday- chore day and spent time over at my in-laws. I cooked some dishes and we had dinner over there.

Monday- some more chores and spent it with the in-laws and brother in law #5 and his family.

Though it was a short work week last week, it felt like I had a lot more to do! I started off 2 mornings with 2 recalls that I had to create and help 2 irate customers resolve some issues....which I hopefully did!

This weekend, we had to "mom-sit" my mother in law. So, we spent the whole day there Saturday. My brother in law #5 and his family came up after dinner and were able to keep the kids entertained with snacks and a movie. We are soo beat. I think the weekends are a lot more work for us!!! (which sucks...... )

Today, chore day and get ready for the week in the East Bay. It's Matthew's last week of school!!!! Yikes!!! He has a singing performance on Tuesday. Tony is going to attend and unfortunately, I'm not able to due to the fact that I just put in vacation time the week of July 4th. We are taking the kids to the "happiest" place on earth. It should be fun and exciting. Anybody interested in going?

Other than that, nothing new..........
